Minutes away from home, Brittney married her partner at the charming Paxton's, a boutique vineyard located in McLaren Vale, South Australia on Saturday, 22nd of April. Brittney's mother, Natasha, describes it as being “nestled within hillsides of grape vines turning beautiful leaves of coral colours all around the property”. The scene was completed with rolling hills, hidden valleys and pops of autumnal colours throughout the heritage red-brick buildings. The winery was the perfect setting for an intimate celebration with 75 guests.
The enchanting vineyard setting was also visualised through Brittney's choice of colours in her wedding party. The bridesmaids wore elegant mocha toned dresses and the floral companions were white rose and blue gum bouquets, which were prepared by Lonsdale business, Tayla Made Flowers. Other than the bouquets, Brittney opted to not have too many other flowers at her wedding as her husband is very talented at striking plants. This meant that their surrounds, including both the ceremony and the reception, were decorated by a variety of plants which added to the theme of the wedding. Brittney's wedding dress was a “this dress” moment in a style that she truly loved after trying on “fifteen dresses in a record time of under two hours”.
As the mother of the bride, Natasha’s dress also perfectly reflected the atmosphere of the day. The Mimi Gown champagne tones mirrored both the colour scheme and the landscape. In addition to this, the mink tones and reflective nature of this style perfectly complimented her daughter’s cream wedding dress.
Natasha wore the Nadine Gown to her friend's wedding as a bridesmaid, and the same friend urged her to explore the Montique website when she was looking for a mother of the bride dress. As the mother of the bride to an only child, Natasha believed she only had one chance to meet the brief. The Mimi Gown caught her eye and she knew it was the perfect dress for such a special day, but due to the fact it was out of stock at the time, Natasha waited for it to be restocked.
As she waited, one day Natasha’s mother (Brittney's grandmother) serendipitously walked through Myer in Melbourne, where she spotted the Mimi Dress. “After many photos to and from each other and the Montique staff helping my mum to extreme length, and knowing I was not settling for any other dress - Mimi was the gown I had to wear for my daughter’s wedding, no question about it.” Although the size was too big and alterations were required, Natasha’s mum still purchased it and travelled home over 500km to bring it to her in a remote rural area of Mallee.
“I was so overwhelmed that the dress was just as beautiful in real life, and the champagne beads toned against Britt’s cream wedding dress was perfect. The compliments at the wedding were overwhelming - it was easy to wear and never for one moment did I feel uncomfortable - simply amazing Montique!!!!!
Thank you, Montique, for your beautiful gown options. Appreciated always and made the most wonderful day even better”.
P.S. The grandmother of the bride wore our Celine Navy Dress to the wedding.
